A second chance in the Interior Café

Naseeruddin Shah has proved his prodigy once again in Interior Café Night. When I watched his short film, I didn’t know that it was viral. But after watching the film, I could not resist myself from celebrating the performance of two protagonists in my heart. It’s difficult to judge how two lovers would react if they meet after three decades, but Naseeruddin Shah and Shernaz Patel deserve a huge round of applause for portraying the expressions that do not need words to convey the feelings.


Shernaz has amazingly expressed the deliberate tight-lipped defensive composure that a typical Indian female maintains, when she faces her ex-lover, or rather the light of her life, who has remained lone after she deserted him because of family incidents. And Shah’s gesture of initiating the second chance is commendable. Even if he is not sure about taking a decision and taking her along, he doesn’t doubt his instinct, and listens to the calling of his younger soul supposedly sitting on the next table watching him. He finally takes the love of his life with him this time, is baar jab sab hai mere hath me!

I was compelled to watch this short film after reading your blog. I have more respect for Naseeruddin Shah from now on.

‘My choice’- The documentary on women empowerment by Deepika Padukone

A few months ago, Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone was featured in a video called ‘My Choice’. It seemed to be made for the empowerment of women but it went much deeper. The dialogues that were delivered by Deepika were supported by the acts of the other ninety-nine women featured in it. These were the ordinary women, some middle class and some upper middle class like any of us. However, I personally do not agree with the entire video. Because eventually, Homi Adjania, the director forgot that when we talk about the empowerment of women, it is not only about the women in urban places, but also the poor women of rural India. I disagree with the documentary on two platforms: factual and emotional. From the factual point of view, there was some serious misunderstanding about the topic itself. Why?  Why now?  Your dreams are different than mine. So how is it time to realize the dreams for everyone?  Yes, I said that because there is something in everyone's mind that they categorize as their dream and they want to fulfil it, sometime in future.  You may not put in all your time and capital in it right now, but you can surely start thinking about executing your plans.  You may start thinking about the money you need, the unique ideas you would implement, and the USP of your product or company even if many other similar entities exist in the market.  When you keep thinking about your dreams, your thoughts become plans, and your plans become actions.  That someday becomes this day, today!!  Even if it takes you a few years contemplating about the pros and cons, the do's and don't, yóu still come a long way when you actually begin.  That's what I said, the time is now!!
